MultiTrans was created by the Canadian company MultiCorpora.
Searching on a word in Source text in English brings up sentence in both source and target. Sentence is highlighted and word is in blue in original. Only one source/target set is shown at once.
If there is an alignment problem, you can also fix it in this window easily. You can also select text in the two text windows, copy and paste it into other documents. To search in the target text, just change the direction in the TextBase Search menu.
The following types of documents can be added to a TextBase:
- doc, text, rtf, ppt, xls, xml, html, pdf, wpd
- Any other formats that Word can open and save as text
- Iso-Latin1 and Unicode (UTF-16) in all the above formats
You need to add files one-by-one, which is very slow:
However, you only need to do this once, since you can name the list of files and save the list as a file.
