Eleven plus exam or transfer test - Given to eleven year olds, it was used to
determine if the student went to a grammar school or to a secondary modern school.
Foundation stage - preschool - end of reception year (ages 3-5)
Key Stage 1 - years 1-2 (ages 5-7)
Key Stage 2 - years 3-6 (ages 7-11)
Key Stage 3 - years 7-9 (ages 11-14)
Key Stage 4 - years 10-11 (ages 14-16)
